It’s Saturday morning, 6.00am, the alarm clock goes off and I get out of bed feeling pretty shaky. The day before had been a long haul shooting Rowan and Tarryn’s wedding. I’d eventually got into bed just after 1.00am after downloading their photos and here we were, a few short hours later ready to take on James and Liesl’s engagement shoot. And to top it all I had to climb into a flipping hot air balloon, without a parachute, steady my shattered nerves and take photographs of them sipping on wine high above the ground. Unlucky for me. But as it turned out, things weren’t going to be all that bad because James and Liesl turned the shoot into a lot of fun. They’re mad! Looney actually. And when it came to taking a bit of prodding and direction from me they took to it like ducks to water. So up into the air we went, wine and all at 8.00am in the morning, then off we went to Mooiberge (if you ever want a bottle store that’s open on a Sunday, this is the spot) and then off to the forest for a fair amount of fantasy play and a lot of laughing going on. In fact, it felt a bit like we were in a pantomime at times.  Refreshing stuff – roll on wedding…

WOW! These are absolutely amazing – thank you SO much Warren (and of course Helen)! We had the best time ever doing this shoot!
Oh wow Liesl & James, this is the most original and creative engagement shoot I’ve seen! It looks like you two had so much fun. Well done Warren for keeping up with this energetic couple after only a few hours of sleep – impressive! I’m sure this is a shoot none of you will forget… it’s the stuff memories are made of! :)
Awesome! Love those shots in the field with the scarecrows!
Hey Liesl & James, & Warren (& Marite for the make-up)
This is amazing, and looks like a LOT of fun!
Glad the weather held, and that you could go up in the balloon.
Warren you are the best!
And you’re right, they are looney :-)
If this is what the engagement shoot looks like, imagine the wedding shots.
Can’t wait for it…..
Thanks Monique! Hope you and Kaz are well!
Pleasure Liesl! Now for the wedding…
once again Warren, I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Warren and Helen

once again Warren, I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very cool guys ! Stunning.
Warren,
When I look at James and Liesl’s photo’s it seems like you’d known them before to be able to put together their story in perfect photo journalism. The shots in the hot air balloon remind me of the seven years James went globe-trotting when he was younger, in the photo on the pavement I see him and Liesl after they got “hithced up” The fun photo’s show their love and happiness in their relationship and ……. then they ride into a fairytale marriage on “Liewe Heksie’s broom!”
The photo’s are beautiful and were clearly taken by someone who loves photography and knows how to get people to relax on the other side of the lens. Congratulations on a wonderful shoot!
Can’t wait to see the weddings pictures!
