Every year there’s one day, just one day that qualifies as ‘Scorcher of the Year.’ And at Danielle and Stephen’s wedding, that day decided to present itself in all its glory. It is INCREDIBLY tough as a photographer to stick it out in that heat. It drains every ounce of energy that you have. But let’s not feel overly sorry for ourselves shall we because it is not the photographer, but rather the groom and his boys whom are wearing the dark jackets complete with ties. It’s they who one needs to feel compassion for. At one stage I remember saying to Stephen: ‘jeepers, but aren’t you hot hey?’ And his response was: ‘no mate, I don’t really suffer from the heat.’ I immediately looked around to see where they’d hidden the candid camera. Not hot? Not hot? No look, I reckon he must have been hallucinating – because let’s be honest, this must have been akin to what a chicken feels like in the moments before it heads to the dinner table (with love and respect to all chickens). Thank goodness for Anne Mann and her foresight to have water-cooled fans dotted around the reception – life-saving stuff Anne. Especially after the traditional Israeli dance which the lads and lasses threw themselves into with such vigour I had to sit down afterwards. As for the reception set-up, wowee, class, class, and more class with incredible attention-to-detail (nice stationary Nancy Flint! And I encourage you to take a look at Nancy’s work, it’s incredible). Here are some of Stephen and Danielle’s photos from one heck of a splendid wedding day!
