When it comes to your wedding, here are the questions I’m most frequently asked:
What do you charge to photograph a wedding?
My standard fee structure starts at R15000-00. In some instances, brides and grooms may opt for a very small, intimate wedding and this I will quote separately.
How far do you travel for weddings?
I’m based in Cape Town, but I travel anywhere for weddings.
How do I book you?
Firstly, fill in the contact form on my site (or you can call me if you like). I’ll then check to see if I’m available. If I am, I’ll send you a Booking Form. You are then free to either book immediately, or if you’d like to meet first that’s also fine. You then fill in your Booking Form, send it back to me, place your 50% non-refundable booking fee and you are officially booked.
Do you bring along an Assistant?
It all depends. Once I’ve chatted to you about your needs and assessed your wedding I make the decision as to whether or not to bring an assistant. Some weddings require an assistant, some don’t.
How should I plan the timing of my photographs?
As a rule of thumb: 2 hours for hair, make-up, accessories; 2 hours for décor, ceremony and congratulations; 30 minutes for family photos; 1 hour for bridal/bridal party photos; 2 -3 hours plus for all reception activity. This does differ though, so I chat to you in detail about this beforehand.
Do you charge a fee for meetings?
Not in this life, no.
I live overseas – how can we meet?
The best way is to Skype each other – I don’t put a limit on how long our meetings last, so you will always leave well informed.
What material do I receive?
Each package includes printed material in various sizes. This is all explained on my price list. All of my packages also include a boxed set USB with the post-processed images prepared in both hi-resolution and low-resolution (for Social Media) format. On my price list you will see that each package carries with it a certain amount of post-processed photographs. This is the MINIMUM amount of photographs you will get. I don’t put a cap on how many post-processed photos I give you – if there are 600, 700, 800 or more good photographs from your wedding, you receive them!
How long will you be at our wedding for?
This is determined by the package you take – either 6, 8 or 10 hours.
How long will it take before I receive my photos?
In general my couples wait about a week. Here and there I might run slightly behind which might add an extra couple of days, however, this is very unusual. So bank on 2 weeks and you’re safe.
Are there any hidden costs?
In general, no. The prices on my price list are what you pay. The only exceptions are out of town weddings that require travel in excess of 400km (or 200km each way). Where necessary, you will be required to pay for airline tickets and/or accommodation. Weddings within a 200km radius of Cape Town incur no added cost. If you live outside of Cape Town and couriering of albums and other material is required, you will need to cover these costs. Otherwise there are no additional costs.
How far in advance should we book you?
This differs according to the time of year. For popular in-season wedding dates you need to be booking anywhere from 6 months to a year in advance. For the less busy months and winter months you should look at booking about 4 months in advance. I cannot stress enough how important this is. I have had many, many brides and grooms who have been so disappointed because they left booking too late. Book early and you’ll be very glad you did.
What do you expect from us on our wedding day?
Quite honestly, I expect you to have the time of your lives. Relax, enjoy the day, have fun, love each other and when it comes to the photographs, just be yourselves and enjoy the ride. But I’ll help you through a lot of it as we go so that your wedding day is one that you will most definitely remember for a long, long time.
