There are 3 essential actions in life that will make you happier and help you live longer. The first is simply to love everyone (and if you can’t love someone then just pretend you do). The second one is to drink an ice-cold beer because beer makes you and those around you more interesting. And the third is that you absolutely, at all costs, have to avoid making eye contact with people who have tattoos. Especially in a trailer park like Old Mac Daddy’s. They’re dangerous and they’ve probably been to prison. More than once.  And the more tats they have, the more dangerous they are. Take Jonelle in the photos that follow for example. She’s wearing stunning pink Converse shoes. They cost a fortune. But she probably stole them. And what about Gerard the groom? It doesn’t really matter that the guy has two psychology degrees behind him, the fact of the matter is that the chances of him cutting the wedding cake and then stabbing me with the knife before setting me alight and singing Yankee Doodle Dandy is not an altogether impossible notion.  And what about Allan Kent? ‘Who on earth is Allan Kent’ you ask? Well, Allan Kent is this very, very dangerous guy I know. He’s also the person I have called a thousand times when I have a problem with this website of mine. And every time I call him, Al is there to fix up and mop up after me. He’s a bit of a legend. Without him I’d be absolutely stuffed to put it mildly. He’s also one of the brightest, fittest, nicest, most sincere people I’ve ever met. Which finally brings me to the point of all this chatter…

When I first started shooting weddings (and families), I had one simple aim in mind – to portray people for who they really were and to let their personalities shine through. I thought that if I took that approach, my photography would remain fresh and that no two weddings or family photo shoots would ever look the same.  So anyway, a year ago, I was standing at my stall at the Cavendish cymbalta online without prescription Square Bridal Expo chatting to Jane Field of hair and make-up fame (by the way, Jane is also extremely dangerous and I think the only reason she isn’t in prison is because she’s on parole). Next thing this guy and girl walk past. They have tattoos, and nose rings and stuff. They stop at my stand and have a quick look. Then they chat to Jane about tats – it’s intense stuff and I feel completely left out. As they move on I say to Jane: ‘I want that wedding.’ But by then they’ve gone. Jane says to me: ‘well then I suggest you go get them.’ So I run down the passageway and finally find them at another stand. I tell them I would REALLY like to shoot their wedding if they’ll have me. The rest of the story is now history. And I’m going to be forever grateful to them for choosing me to shoot their wedding because I needed them more than they needed me. I wanted their wedding not because I wanted to shoot their tats. I wanted their wedding because what I saw was two individuals who just oozed personality and charisma and who were completely at ease with themselves (and I liked that a LOT). I didn’t want any other photographer to have them. Selfish I know, but hey whatever. Their wedding was going to offer me the opportunity to shoot my own style – no trying to copy what others are doing, just flat out, honest, ‘who-you-are’ photography.  So here’s the thing – when I get mails and calls and comments on Facebook that say: ‘hey Warren, you rock,’ the question I always ask is ‘do I?’  Hmmm, I’m not so sure. I think it’s the other way around. My couples are actually the ones that do all the rocking. Each and every one of them. And I can prove it because they admit to it when they take it in turns each week to say: ‘I do.’ Yes indeed, you certainly do rock my friends, you certainly do.
