On the morning of every wedding I quite like to leave early, take a long, slow drive and just take in the atmosphere. I usually stop off near the venue, have a beer and focus on the day ahead. At Hennie and Asanti’s wedding Helen and I stopped in Stanford at a restaurant in the town, ordered a beer and a pita bread. We chit-chatted and watched people getting on with their Saturday morning whatever’s. There was a Super 15 game on the TV inside and some very happy fisher-folk who had clearly been celebrating from opening time judging by their condition. Anyway, off we went to Beloftebos which I was quite excited about shooting at because I’ve never been there before. I’m very quietly judgmental about wedding venues because I like to see that they make an effort – and Beloftebos does. It was really nice (and at night when they turn on the fairy lights – whoa, nice work). I don’t need to tell you what I think about Hennie and Asanti – flipping good guys these. Chilled, laid back, in love, open, warm – all the really good words in a dictionary. I think we really all just had such a good time right from the start (and Asanti is one of those brides who was ready to jump at any idea I could think of throwing at her). As for Hennie, well Hennie is just Hennie – rock solid guy with a big smile and the heart to match. What a heck of a fun day – although I’m not sure who enjoyed it more – Hennie and Asanti, or the kids who tore up that dance floor from the first song to the last. Here are some of their photos…
Ek beny jou jou werk. Ek sou soooo graag foto’s wou neem. Dalk ken jy my sussie, Anine Koch, wat troufotograaf is in Oos-Londen? In elk geval, doen so voort. Dis ongelooflik kreatief en mooi.
Liefdegroete
