Weddings are all about experiences. And don’t for one minute believe that everything at a wedding is the stuff of fairytales. Oh boy, things can indeed go wrong. Ministers arriving late, brothers forgetting their suits at home, rings being left in the grooms room, cakes imploding under the heat of the sun, microphones going completely belly-up during the speeches – you know, everyday normal sort of stuff. But it’s actually these sorts of things that make weddings what they are – exciting and never a dull moment. However, there is something else that makes weddings exciting and that is simply those human being who come up to our waists. The little people. At Marcelle and Lotte’s wedding at Grand Dédale in Wellington there was a tablefull of them. Chirpy, happy-go-lucky, ‘we just want to have as much fun as possible today so use it or lose it’ kind of nippers. The very gorgeous, generic cymbalta walgreens ever-young, almost to be a mom, Izandi of I do (whose own wedding I shot – and what a cool day that was), added the colour, the the glitz and the glamour fantastically. But when it came to the sparkle, it was Lotte’s little daughter Pien and her friends who added that! They were outstanding – playing to the camera and just lapping up everything around them. Throw Lotte into the mix with her frighteningly good looks and vibrant personality and all we really needed was a groom. Marcelle scrubbed up good, stuck his hand up and it was game on. This really was quite an awesome day because the setting, the service, the food at Grand Dédale and the wedding guests (many of them flying in from Holland for the occasion) were all first class through and through. What a day. What an experience. What a great start to a married life.
