Ryan and Juliette, Nooitgedacht. I’ve often wondered about it you know. Life after wedding photography. I mean you can’t go on forever now can you? There will indeed come that time to hang up the gloves, look back, smile broadly at it all and move on. Which is where a guy by the name of Patrick Boucher comes in. Aaaah Patrick, Patrick, Patrick. Wedding Officer, Wedding Officiant, Wedding Good Guy. You see, Patrick marries people. But he doesn’t just stand there and go through the motions. He researches his couple, uncovers stories about them, takes an interest in who they are and what they do, where they’re from and where they’re going. And then, come wedding day, he unleashes it all, connecting with the couple and their guests. I’ve never seen Patrick in an ‘ify’ mood. He’s always positive and inspirational. And funny and entertaining with it. He just has a knack of understanding people and it shows. So by the time he’d finished marrying Ryan and Juliette, (who, during the ceremony, where very amused at just how much he knew about them), the mood was set for an extraordinary afternoon of canapĂ©s and drinks medicament le cymbalta under the oaks of the long Nooitgedacht driveway. The intention was actually to have the entire reception outside. But with some impending inclement weather, there was a quick change of plan and Ido4u and Nico Loubscher of N Concepts and Designs (check ’em out) pulled some rabbits out of the hat to get everything moved and set up inside in record time. So ja, a very fine day all-in-all, the mood aptly set by the man that married them. Thanks Patrick, you’re a machine. And maybe, just maybe when I hang up those gloves, I’ll think about researching, telling stories and sending newly-weds on the start of their incredible journey, just like you. Love you man.
