Tarryn and Willy, Winery Road Forest. I first met Tarryn at Romy and Charlie’s wedding. I was busy shooting Romy’s make-up at Angala.
It was an indecently hot day so I popped upstairs to try and find a glass of water. That’s when Tarryn walked past and flashed this intensely friendly smile at me. Those kinds of smiles don’t come along often in life – open, friendly, genuine. But now here’s the thing. As Tarryn stepped out of the car at her own wedding, there was more than just a smile. She let out one of those laughs that make you laugh back. It’s a bit difficult to describe it, but you know what I mean – naughty, nervous, excited, expectant and just plain feel-good all rolled into one. I caught myself wondering how Willy and Tarryn could ever feasibly watch a comedy together. She laughs and he misses the movie because he’s busy wetting himself at her. What an awesome way to spend a Saturday evening (or any evening for that matter). Willy has his own built-in therapeutic spa in Tarryn. And so it came to be that humanrightsfilmnetwork.org/ventolin this delightful couple were married at Winery Road Forest amidst plenty of song, dance and yes, laughter. But it wasn’t all laughter by any means. There were a lot of tears and emotion during the reception that had the goose-bumps running from top to toe. And. I must add that uncle Brian who had travelled all the way from the USA to be at the wedding not only conducted the ceremony, but also bashed out a good few Engelbert Humperdink renditions that were actually extremely good to say the least. As I left I could her Tarryn laughing in the background – that set the tone for the drive home. I think I’m going to book Tarryn every 6 weeks or so for a half hour ‘let’s laugh and make our tummies really sore’ session.
Warren, what beautiful words. You have summed up Tarryn to a T. I must add that you are the best photographer I have ever come across. I never heard you once ask people to smile. You did it through your wit and obvious love of people. Thank you for capturing our precious memories in such an unforgettable way. From the mother of the bride, Gill.
