Matthew, Nicole and Joshua. I’m often at pains to explain to my couples that if they’re not overly keen on starting a family immediately, they should probably be looking at another photographer to photograph their wedding. There’s good reason for this. My track record is absolutely atrocious when it comes to my brides falling pregnant. They seem to simply fall pregnant at the drop of a hat. In fact, just last week I got a Whattsapp from Illona to say: ‘Er, guess what?’ I didn’t need to guess – I knew the answer (and with that I let out an enormous cheer). Oh, and the same counts for a few others in the Warren Williams Photography fold – like Christian and Katya, Kobus and Sian, Warren and Tam, David and Bianca, Carla and Ian, Andrew and Calan, Howard and Daelle, Charles and Riana, Michael and Leanne, Lauren and Pablo – and so it goes. So let me say this again – girls, please, I implore you, with winter almost upon us, encourage your husbands to take up a hobby. Kite flying is lovely. Learning the guitar always comes in handy. Even playing the harmonica will stand one in good stead. You could even encourage your husbands to write an open letter or two to JZ and the gang. At least it’ll keep them busy. Learn to braai or something. Seriously. In Mat and Nicole’s case, they were reasonably responsible. Paced themselves. Practised a little. Went for Sunday afternoon walks. Had time to at least discuss some name options. Not, ‘woohooooo, we’re married, let’s have a cricket team!’ Well done and congratulations Matty-boy and Nicole, you’re marvellous. Love you lots and here’s to your lifelong adventure together. As for the rest of you preggie girls, I can’t wait to see your new additions shortly. Leanne, I think you’re next up girl!
