Taya’s Bat Mitzvah. Alrighty then. Bat Mitzvahs are always very awesome affairs. But let’s be honest here for a moment – who do you actually think has more fun? The kids? Or the adults? Think carefully now. At Taya’s Bat Mitzvah the competition was strong. The children were bashing it out on the dance floor, but er, ja look, not to be outdone, the big people weren’t doing too badly either. The thing is, this fam had flown in from all over the world and they’d come to celebrate, full steam ahead and all. I was standing up on the UV curve at Bree Street Studios and there was a moment that I thought Table Mountain might come crumbling down. Excellent effort all round. On a serious note though, Taya is an exceptionally delightful young lady. Bev and Saul, you guys can be extremely proud of your daughter – wow, the future of our country looks very bright indeed with the likes of Taya around. Very polite, excellent, mature, well-crafted speech and an outstanding set of friends. Hang onto those friends young lady, they’re worth gold as you go through life. Um, as for your family, well, they do enjoy a bit of a take squeak on the good old dance floor now don’t they. Taya, there’s this movie from back in the 70’s called ‘Saturday Night Fever.’ I think you should probably Google it. You might recognize a few people in it. Hashtag ‘just saying.’
