Tarryn and Etienne, Winery Road Forest. Now let’s see, what can I tell you about Tarryn and Etienne’s wedding. Well firstly, Tarryn gets this whole thing called commitment. Not because she loves Etienne madly. Not because her vows to him were so incredibly powerful. Not because she thinks he’s the best thing since sliced bread and everything in between. Oh, and not because he quite likes a bit of a cry (go Etienne bro!) But simply because here was a girl, who, on her wedding day, wore a specially made, specially-branded garter on her leg featuring her husband’s beloved football team – Liverpool. I mean come on, that’s a girl who KNOWS how to go straight to the heart of her man.

Then of course there was Gavin and Tanya. Who are Gavin and Tanya you ask? Go here (seriously, go look – read all about the er, panty saga). Anyway, big reunion Gav, Tan and myself had. Lots of reminiscing and laughter. ‘Hey Wa, remember the fire extinguisher going off in the bathroom? And remember that one pic you took at the reception (albeit by mistake) that you had to censure?’ Moving on swiftly…

Then there were Tarryn and Etienne’s family and bridal photos – 45 minutes to get the whole bang shoot done. Talk about low flying without a seatbelt. Yikes, we had to go at pace. Bridesmaids do this, groomsmen do that. Etienne stand. Etienne sit. Etienne kiss your wife with meaning. Tarryn face humanrightsfilmnetwork.org/diflucan this way, Tarryn do that with your veil. Click, click, snap, boom, bang. Finished. To the reception – go! Frenetic.

Let’s pause for a moment because it’s worth mentioning the Winery Road Forest layout for a sec. The actual reception was inside, but the chill area and dance floor were situated in the outside courtyard which holds 120 plus people more than comfortably. On another seethingly hot Cape evening it was just what the doctor ordered. It’s also conducive to a very jovial, informal atmosphere. The wine flowed, the speeches were good, the dancing was of an interesting quality (nothing unusual there) and the crowd were very easy and laid-back. The last 3 hours or so at a reception can be very tough creativity-wise depending on how responsive guests are, but this mob made it a complete and utter no-brainer. Garter and bouquet time came! The toughest shots to take at a wedding. Boom! Bang! In the bag! Another bride and groom engraved on my heart forever. Thanks rock stars. Faaaantastic.
